One of the scariest moments of my life occurred when I was young.
My friends and I were exploring old limestone mines in southern Illinois.
Deep inside a mine on a hill, my best friend decided to turn off our only flashlight.
The darkness was so intense that we couldn't see anything in front of us.
I was terrified and couldn't even move.
However, when the flashlight was turned back on,
we made our way back to the mine entrance and stepped into the bright sunlight.
The fear vanished, and a sense of relief washed over us with the light.
Thank God for that flashlight!
